So Caught Up

Why do we care about the now?

Why do we care about the latest and greatest?

How are we so caught up in the moment that we miss the here and now?

Why do we spend our days scrolling?

Why do we spend our precious time obsessing over other people?

How are we so caught up in keeping up that we fall down?

Why do we have Ted talks about talking?

Why do we let someone else tell us how to live our lives?

How are we so caught up in the knowledge that we lose sight of our own wisdom?

Why do we worship all the pretty people?

Why is the look they have the only thing we see?

How are we so caught up in the close-up that we miss the panoramic?

Why do we have more pronouns and more depression?

Why do we have more safe spaces but not less adolescent suicides?

How are we so caught up in labels that we miss out on the humanity of a person?

Why do we ask why?

Why do we never find the answer?

How are we so caught up in the destination that we miss the journey?
