The Side of 75

The side of 75

Driving down the side of 75 makes me feel alive.

Me and the car out for a nice little drive

I am not the person I could’ve been

I am not the person

I daydream of

I am the person I am

Free of all that rough drug stuff.

Me, the wind, the radio,

and a little hit of nicotine,

Hits so serene.

Cars swerve,

some deserve horns

others I scorn,

but I keep moving and grooving.

Driving down the side of 75 makes me feel alive.

Me and the car out for a nice little drive

Foot on the gas pedal I won’t budge

Sober as a judge

the jury of my mind goes out to lunch

a break from all that judgemental fury

No fear, no strife, no what if’s

no back to the future biffs

an occasional spliff hits the lips,

california dreamin got nothing on this

Driving down the side of 75 makes me feel alive.

Me and the car out for a nice little drive

Windows down

ridin round the A town

No frown in site

75 you got me feelin alright

If all of life was a traffic light

I’d fight to get on the interstate

Back to a place where I relate life to myself

Taking dusty memories off the shelf

Blow em off like cigarettes in the wind

My drive just begin

Driving down the side of 75 makes me feel alive.

Me and the car out for a nice little drive

Atlanta to Kennesaw

Kennesaw to Acworth

Wonder what all the life of living is worth

God when I die spread my soul up and down 75

The only place I felt what it meant to be alive

Driving down the side of 75 makes me feel alive.

Me and the car out for a nice little drive
